In this recent talk/interview Professor Peter Quinn gives a short introduction to radio and optical telescopes and how astronomers use them to make sense of the universe. SKA often mentioned in the video is The Square Kilometer Array, the world’s largest radio telescope, which is used to investigate galaxy evolution, gravity, dark energy, dark matter and other phenomena. Professor Quinn briefly introduces the history of observational astronomy, the objectives of modern telescopes and what discoveries are expected in the near future.
