Metamaterials and the Science of Invisibility

In this recent talk at the Imperial College London, professor John Pendry  discusses the exiting field of metamaterials and what role such they play in reaching invisibility. While invisibility for a long time was just a part of science fiction, now it is slowly paving its way into everyday science. This, of course, is possible due to research of metamaterials and John Pendry is one of the leading experts in the field  known for his research into refractive indices and creation of the first practical “Invisibility Cloak”. In this talk he will introduce the current state of affairs in this exciting field and discusses his own work.
