Dark Matter, Dark Energy and Inflation

| July 19, 2013 | 0 Comments

As successful as modern cosmology is it is haunted by a number of currently unsolved problems, the most prominent of which include dark matter, dark energy and inflation. There are many proposed solutions that aim to explain these three pillars of modern physics — some explanations are based on new physics, whereas others aim to modify the current theories. However, despite the hard work of scientists, these three mysteries are still not answered.

In this lecture Dr. Michael S. Turner, Professor, Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics, University of Chicago, discusses the great mysteries of cosmology, including a short history and some of the possible solutions.
