Here we have a course from UC Berkeley called “Physics for Future Presidents”. In this popular course, Prof. Richard A. Muller presents some of the most popular subjects focusing on practical applications and understanding rather than math.  The subjects covered in the course include atoms and heat, gravity, radioactivity, electricity and magnetism, relativity and some quantum physics.  The course has also been released in a form of a book, which, according to Publishers Weekly, “Should be required reading for all informed citizens, as well as Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John McCain.” The book can be found here.
