On the Beginning of Astrobiology

| May 3, 2013 | 0 Comments

The science of astrobiology studies the origin of life in our universe by investigating the living conditions on Earth and other planets. It is an highly interdisciplinary field, which, for a long time, has been considered serious only by the sci-fi writers. Today, however, when the space exploration is breaking new boundaries and projects such as SETI are scanning the skies, astrobiology plays an important role in science.

In this video from the SETI talks archives Dr. David Morison, the Director of the Carl Sagan Center for Life in the Universe at the SETI Institute, gives a lecture on the discipline of astrobiology and how it came to be adopted into NASA’s research goals.
