It’s Not Rocket Science

| August 11, 2012 | 0 Comments

Throughout the last couple of hundred years science has become really amazing and, unfortunately to many, fiendishly complicated. And, even though, many people are interested in science, the complicated mathematics or highly abstract concepts make it hard for people with no education in that field to enjoy it. “It’s Not Rocket Science” tries to overcome this by offering simple explanations to everyday readers.

About the Author

Ben Miller, first of all, is an interesting and fun personality — a guy who was working towards a Physics Phd at Cambridge, when he accidentally became a comedian. He is also and actor and has a regular science column in The Times.

Short Review

Ever had that sneaking feeling that you are missing out on some truly spectacular science? You do? Well fear not, “It’s Not Rocket Science” will help you. Ben Miller, who is also a comedian, does a great job at keeping the audience interested and his comedian’s talent is surely visible throughout the book.  Even though Ben Miller is an actor and a comedian, he has returned to his roots to share with you all his favourite bits of science.

As the author himself says: “This is the stuff that you really need to know, not only because it matters, but because it will quite simply amaze and delight you. Let me show you another, perhaps less familiar side of Science; her beauty, her seductiveness and her passion. And let’s do it quickly, while Maths isn’t looking.”
