Another Space Frontier About to be Crossed

Another frontier is about to be crossed as the famous Voyager 1 has almost reached the true outer space ( farthest reach of the solar winds). Voyager 1 was launched in 1977 and after more than 34 years of Journey through space it is nearing the point where the solar winds will be overwhelmed by the interstellar winds that blow among the stars.

Voyager 1 travels through the vast emptiness at 17 km/h and it’s currently almost 18 billion kilometers away from Earth. After a string of famous discoveries on Saturn and Jupiter the famous spacecraft will once again help scientist in exploring the region called “heliopause.” It is the final edge of the solar system and none spacecraft has ever reached it before. Voyager 1 will help to detect how far “heliopause” really is. The pictures below show the journey of the two Voyagers and their location a few yers before and now.
