The Planets

This time let’s check a little older documentary by the BBC team called “The Planets”. As you might guess from the title it’s all about the planets of the solar system and how they were explored. But don’t worry that’s not all to it, the eight part series also give you insight in the  modern astronomy problems including how the universe started, how stars formed and are we alone in this vast universe.

As most of the works by the BBC team this one has amazing visuals (for its time of course). Viewers get a glimpse into the solar system through seldom-seen NASA footage, computer graphics, special effects and imagery from the Hubble telescope.

The episodes include:

  1. “Different Worlds”
  2. “Terra Firma”
  3. “Giants”
  4. “Moon”
  5. “Star”
  6. “Atmosphere”
  7. “Life Beyond the Sun”
  8. “Destiny”

Special Fetures Included in the DVD:
